B S Arun Kumar hails from a music family, inspired by his father Sri B S Sukumar who is a drummer. Arun ventured into the field of Percussion music at the tender age of 7. Later he received Carnatic percussion training under Sri. S V Giridhar. He got advanced training in percussions under the guidance of Sri. Anoor Ananthakrishna Sharma. He is now learning jazz drumming under renowned drummer Sri. Ranjit Barot. Plays on western drums, Morsing, and several Indian folk percussions. He has been in the field of music since 1986. He has given performances all over India. He has toured in many countries. He is a Founder member of Layatharanga. It is a team of young percussionists. It has received wide appreciation all over the country.
