B S Anand is an accomplished Mridangam performer. Being born into the family of musicians, music runs through his veins. His parents are prominent vocalists Sri B.K.Sheshadri and Smt.Nagaveni Sheshadri. Anand started to learn Mridangam from his uncle Vidwan B.K. Chandramouli. He later had his advanced training from Sri.C.Chaluvaraju. Anand is an "A" grade artist in All India Radio (AIR). He has given many programmes for AIR and Doordarshan. He has performed alongside leading musicians at leading sabhas and music festivals in India and abroad. His performance was well received in America, African and Asian countries. Anand is the recipient of many prestigious awards and titles. He received "Best Mridanga accompanist", "Ananya Yuva Puraskar" awards, to name a few. He is the founder of "Sanak Art School", an NGO that imparts music to all the students. Carnatic vocal, light music, devotional songs, Violin and Mridangam can be learnt in the centre. The institution offers Skype classes to the interested students from India and Singapore. Anand has served as Mridangam and Vocal instructor at schools in India and Singapore.
