About

Arun Gangadhar Achanta is a Carnatic vocalist who has trained under eminent gurus Smt. K. Nagamani and Sri. R.K. Ramakant. He has won the "Cultural Talent research Scholarship Scheme" from the Center for Cultural Resources and Training, New Delhi. He has a Diploma in Music from Hyderabad, and is employed as a Sr. Consultant in SAP Labs, Bangalore. A recipient of cultural talent research scholarship from the Center for Cultural Resources and Training (CCRT), New Delhi, Arun Achanta gave many concerts and won awards for his rendition of Thyagaraja, Annamayya, Patnam Subrahmanya Iyer, Deekshitar and Syama Sastri samkeerthanamsfrom- Samskara Bharathi (AP), Kalasagaram, YMCA, South Indian Cultural Association besides the Balgandharva award to name a few. He considers his concert at the music festival organised by CCRT at Silpakala Vedika as his best. “It was my dream to perform with fellow artistes from all over India and it was fulfilled at this fest.” He sang a couple of songs each in two devotional CDs composed by Mannava (Vinnakota) Revathy, on Shirdi Saibaba, ‘Meluko Sri Sai’ (released in 2010) and ‘Sri Sadguru Antarangam’ which was released on June 9.
