Smt Aparna Vinod Menon is the disciple of Vazhuvur Bani exponent Guru Bhanumathi and Guru Sheela Chandrasekhar of Nritya Kala Mandiram, Bangalore. A graded artist of Doordarshan and recipient of ‘Nrityashiromani’ title from Cuttack Mahotsav, and ‘Natya Ratna’ from Vayalar Samskarika Vedi. She holds a Masters in Bharathanatyam from Tanjavur University, Natyavisharada from Gandarva Mahavidhyalaya, Sangeet Vibhakar in Hindustani vocal from Bhangiya Sangeet Parishad, apart from her MBA in Finance. She has performed in Soorya Parampara festival, Rasavikalpam of Sangeetha Natak Akademi, Chidambaram Natyanjali programs, to name a few. She is Director of Tharang Academy of Arts, imparting training in Bharathanatyam and Hindustani music. Aparna also has been learning Hindustani music under the tutelage of Smt. Rina Basu. She is Director of Tharang Academy of Arts, Whitefield which is organizing Tharang Utsav 2013. Aparna is a gifted writer in Malayalam and many songs written by her has been broadcasted in All India Radio. Her journey as a writer has taken a turn into screen writing. She has penned dialogues of two Malayalam movies ‘Kalyani’ and ‘Manjadikuru’.
