Vinod Shyam hails from the 'Anoor family' a renowned and respected music family of Karnataka. He is the great grandson of Vid.Anoor Shamanna a renowned veena artist, grandson of Ganakalabhushana Vid. Anoor S Ramakrishna an esteemed violinist and an all time great Guru of carnatic music. His father Ganakalashree Vid.Anoor Ananthakrishna Sharma is among the most popular and respected percussionist and Guru in the field of carnatic music.Vinod Shyam continuous this great legacy and he is among the most sought after Mridangam performers in Karnataka and a versatile percussionist who excels in various percussion instruments apart from Mridangam. He is a B-High grade artist of All India Radio and he has accompanied many senior performers across India and abroad. He is an active member in various percussion ensembles and has also collaborated with multiple genres of music. The testimonies of his competence are the long list of prizes he has won and the awards bestowed on him by many prestigious organisations.
