Anirudha Srinivasa Bhat is a renowned professional Mridangam artist and have 15 years of experience in teaching Mridangam. He learnt mridangam at the age of 12 with initial guidance from V.Mohan. He became a full time Mridangist by training with his guru, Vidwan K.U.Jayachandra Rao. Being a mechanical engineer by profession, he chose to make a career in the field of fine arts. His passion for Mridangam made him one of the graded artists for All India Radio (AIR) and Doordarshan. He has performed all over the world in many prestigious sabhas with eminent artists. Famous musicians Aruna Sairam, Shantala Subramaniam, Shankar Mahadevan, Vidya Bhushan, Mysore Brothers, Malladi Brothers ,Ganesh-Kumaresh, to name a few . He has successfully performed several concerts and conducted music workshops in European countries (Ireland, Germany, Austria, Sweden, Norway, Belgium, France, UK and Scotland) and Africa.His performances have featured in television channels Nadaneerajanam (SVBC), Shankara Channel, Doordarshan, and Insync. Currently, apart being a full time Mridangist, he guides Mridangam aspirants to achieve their passion of learning mridangam through classes at his residence in Bengaluru. His classes can be availed via Skype and Google Hangout as well. He is a teaching member of Udupa Foundation, to teach Mridangam as one of educational courses.
