Skiing is the use of skis to glide on snow. Skis are flat boards and a skier uses poles to navigate.

• A few other sports have a side-ways stance - for example: Skateboarding, Wave boarding, Surfing (on waves), Wakeboarding (on water, pulled by a boat)
